There are 3 fundamental physical states:

solid

liquid

gas

And a certain number of intermediary physical states such as paste.

Any pure body can be in any one of these states, depending on the physical and chemical properties of the ambient environment.

One of the important functions of industrial activity is that of separating the constituent phases of a mixture in order to eliminate or collect one or more of them.

Once the filtration processes have been previously selected and installed, the filter element may be studied, replaced or modified. The following essential parameters should be taken into consideration:

1 ) Fluid:

Physical properties: temperature, viscosity, density, etc.

Chemical properties: acid, base, salt

2) Dispersed phase:

Nature

Particle dimensions

Concentration

3) Flow:

Flow rate

Loss of maximum allowable charge

Desired filtration threshold

Frequency and type of de-clogging

“Knowledge of these factors enables the material, the filter surface and the design of the filter element to be determined.”

The environment could be:

Solvent

Acid

Base

Oxidant

The material:

Polypropylene

Polyester

Polyamide

Acrylic

Cotton

Different qualities of material are used depending on the application, since the chemical, physical and mechanical properties of each material are different and appropriate to specific filtration criteria, as a result.

The construction of the filter element varies and a wide range is available.
